Recipe Q&A
- → What cut of meat is best for this dish?
Pork shoulder is ideal due to its marbling and tenderness after slow cooking, which allows it to shred easily and absorb flavors well.
- → How can I add a spicier kick to the dish?
You can include half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in the spice rub or serve the sandwich with pickled jalapeños for extra heat.
- → What methods are used to achieve the fire-kissed flavor?
After slow cooking, the pulled pork is seared on a hot grill or skillet to develop crispy edges that impart a smoky, charred taste.
- → Are there any recommended garnishes or accompaniments?
Fresh herbs like parsley, chives, and thyme brighten the flavors, while coleslaw and thin red onion slices add texture and freshness.
- → Can this be adapted for dietary restrictions?
Using gluten-free buns can accommodate gluten intolerance, and checking sauces for allergens will help suit other dietary needs.
