Frozen layers of banana, dark chocolate, almonds, and coconut create a refreshing, crunchy treat.

# Ingredient List:

→ Fruit

01 - 3 ripe bananas

→ Chocolate

02 - 7 oz dark chocolate (minimum 60% cocoa), chopped

→ Toppings

03 - 2 tbsp chopped roasted almonds
04 - 2 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut
05 - 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips (optional)
06 - 2 tbsp freeze-dried raspberries or strawberries (optional)
07 - Pinch of flaky sea salt

# Directions:

01 - Line a 9 x 13 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Peel bananas and cut into 1/4 inch rounds.
03 - Place banana slices on the baking sheet in a single, slightly overlapping layer forming a rectangle or oval approximately 1/2 inch thick.
04 - Heat the chopped dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. Alternatively, melt over a double boiler.
05 - Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the banana layer and spread gently with a spatula to cover completely.
06 - Sprinkle chopped almonds, shredded coconut, mini chocolate chips, freeze-dried berries, and flaky sea salt evenly over the chocolate layer immediately.
07 - Place the tray in the freezer for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
08 - Break or slice the frozen bark into pieces. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It tastes decadent but comes together in minutes, making you look effortlessly talented.
  • The contrast between creamy frozen banana and snappy chocolate is genuinely addictive.
  • You can customize it endlessly based on whatever you have in your pantry that day.
02 -
  • Bananas that are too ripe will turn mushy and lose their structure—aim for ones that are yellow with maybe a freckle or two, not brown.
  • Melting chocolate in short bursts saves it from getting grainy and bitter; the residual heat keeps working even after you stop microwaving.
  • The bark needs to be fully frozen before breaking, or it becomes a melty mess; resist the urge to check early.
03 -
  • Chopping your chocolate into smaller pieces before melting helps it melt evenly and prevents overheating.
  • If your bananas are slightly small, layer them more thickly or use four instead of three to ensure good coverage and a satisfying bite.
